Industry & Intelligence 2025: Focus on industry meetings

LabV at 2025 industry events

LabV on the Road: Where Innovation Takes the Stage

In the coming months, LabV will be present at several major industry events across Germany, including the German Mechanical Engineering Summit in Berlin, the GDCh Coatings Conference in Aachen, and the LIMS Forum in Mainz. Each event focuses on different sectors, from coatings and chemicals to machinery and lab tech, but they all center around the same essential challenge: How can we make development processes faster, smarter, and more sustainable through better data?

From mechanical engineering to coatings to plastics, the pressure is on: accelerate innovation, comply with stricter regulations, and manage resources more efficiently. Digitalization and AI are key enablers, but only if the data behind them is structured, accessible, and usable.

LabV doesn’t just talk about digital transformation; it demonstrates it. Whether it’s automated formulation development, structured data analysis, or full traceability of material information along the development cycle, we provide real-world examples of Material Intelligence in action. Through talks, workshops, and interactive sessions, we show how our platform supports data-driven innovation across industries.

A Data-Driven Future for Coatings R&D

The GDCh Coatings Conference, launching on September 17 in Aachen, brings together researchers, developers, and industrial experts from across the coatings sector. Known for blending fundamental science with applied innovation, this year’s theme, "Innovations and Trends in the Coatings Industry", covers biobased raw materials, novel additives, and digital tools.

LabV contributes practical insights, addressing key questions like:

  • How can formulation and measurement data be structured and connected?
  • How can lab results be translated more quickly into scalable formulations?
  • How do digital platforms drive efficiency in R&D workflow?

In our presentation, we showcase a real-world use case where data analytics accelerates formulation decisions. Structured data not only shortens development cycles but also improves product performance.

Later this year, the European Coatings (EC) Conference will continue the conversation with a focus on digital tools, data infrastructures, automation, and AI. This November event is designed for R&D managers, lab heads, and decision-makers.

At EC Conference:

  • Charles Jouanique will explore how formulation data can support robust, real-time decision-making, based on daily project experience.
  • A hands-on workshop will guide participants through the LabV platform, exploring data flows, smart linking, and AI-powered optimization in coatings development.

Both conferences make one thing clear: the future of formulation is data-driven. Staying competitive means embracing digital transformation not just as a buzzword, but as a practical, actionable model.

Empowering Industrial Transformation at the German Mechanical Engineering Summit

When it comes to digital transformation in manufacturing, the German Mechanical Engineering Summit, organized by VDMA and Produktion, is a key event on the calendar. Held on September 16 and 17 in Berlin, it brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers to discuss AI, digital value creation, energy efficiency, and strategic resilience.

Material data is becoming increasingly important. Companies aiming to integrate R&D, production, and supply chains more effectively need more than just raw data—they need actionable insights.

LabV will demonstrate how our Material Intelligence platform delivers exactly that. By making data both accessible and usable, it enables faster decision-making, reduced time-to-market, and greater transparency across the industrial value chain.

The event features contributions from Siemens, SAP, T-Systems, and policy experts.

Key topics include:

  • How can data from legacy systems be integrated directly, without unnecessary detours?
  • How can AI and digital assistants optimize formulation?
  • What’s the role of structured data linking in improving process understanding?

For LabV, attending this summit is a clear answer to a pressing question: how does digital innovation become reality in manufacturing? The answer lies not in more tools, but in smart data structures that turn scattered information into insight. That’s our focus.

Beyond LIMS: From Data Collection to Decision Intelligence

The LIMS Forum in Mainz, taking place in late October, brings together professionals from lab operations, IT, and R&D to explore digital strategies for the lab of the future. For LabV, it is an ideal setting to demonstrate what lies beyond traditional LIMS: integrated and intelligent lab workflows powered by connected data.

Classic LIMS platforms are primarily focused on sample tracking and standardized documentation. However, modern R&D demands more—a platform that connects data from multiple sources, performs meaningful analysis, and enables real-time decision-making.

Material Intelligence represents the next evolution in lab digitalization. It moves beyond conventional LIMS by turning isolated data into a unified, strategic knowledge base that supports faster, smarter outcomes.

LabV will show how material data can become a valuable asset that drives better decisions, improves formulations, and streamlines development processes. Key topics include:

  • The industrial application of generative AI and large language models
  • Emerging data ecosystems such as Manufacturing-X
  • Digital business models, workforce strategies, and AI-driven innovation in robotics

In short: Managing data is no longer enough. The future is about activating it.

Data, Not Just Tools: The Core of Digital Innovation

Whether it’s coatings, machinery, or lab IT, the future of industrial innovation is data-centric. Tools like LIMS are only effective if the data within them can be analyzed and applied meaningfully.

That’s the common thread across all these events. Industry leaders are increasingly interested in solutions that bridge the gap between lab, production, and R&D. The goal is to break down silos, accelerate development, and generate real insights.

From Berlin to Aachen, Cologne to Mainz, these events represent a turning point. LabV is present with live demonstrations and best practices to show how real value is created from data. The objective is clear: better products, more resilient R&D processes, and digital tools that deliver practical results rather than theoretical promises.
